About

I’m proud to have written about Wales in two Lonely Planet books, namely Experience Great Britain and Experience Wales.

Lonely Planet’s Experience series offers a new alternative to the ‘blue spine’ series, focusing on curated experiences and expert-built itineraries for specific destinations rather than featuring anything and everything. The opportunity came to me after having written online features, reviews, guides and social media content for Lonely Planet about Cardiff and Wales (as well as Bristol, Bath, Oxford, Brighton and beyond) for over five years. Through on-the-ground and online research, I’ve become an expert in places I write about and love sharing their best-kept secrets.

For Experience Great Britain (2022), I planned, developed and wrote all of the content about Wales. Impressed with the quality of my work and my knowledge of the country, Lonely Planet asked me to be involved in Experience Wales (2023). For this book, I planned, developed and wrote the Cardiff chapter, the country-wide itineraries, parts of the introductory chapter about Wales as a whole and the Practicalities chapter. Both books were a lot of work, but I - and Lonely Planet - am really pleased with them.
