About

Used by the likes of Adobe, Netflix, Facebook and BBC, as well as fast-growth startup companies and dynamic SMEs, many of us benefit from Amazon Web Services (AWS) without even knowing what it is. AWS is the world's leading cloud provider, an online platform that developers can access from anywhere to manage, run and scale their business operations.

AWS launched a podcast series, AWS Startup Stories, to share the stories of global entrepreneurs who scaled their businesses from the ground up using AWS. To accompany the podcast, AWS produced Notes from Founders, a series of eBooks comprising 25 founder interviews. I was hired to interview founders and turn the conversations into chapters for the eBooks.

It was an interesting project that saw me interviewing billionaires, game-changers, influential decision-makers and tenacious entrepreneurs at the forefront of their industries. There was plenty of technical jargon, industry-specific terminology and trumpet-blowing, all of which had to be converted into readable, digestible prose without losing the interviewees' personalities. The overall aim was to tell the entrepreneurs' business stories while including insider insights, demonstrations of how they use AWS and service recommendations for other businesses looking to do similar things. AWS was extremely pleased with the outcome and commissioned me to work on other eBooks and newsletters.
